For title research I used the site Art of the Title. This site has been very useful so far. It has helped me understand what needs to be included in a title. I have also been able to get ideas for scenes that we could use for our title. Some titles use each scene to represent a side of the movie. While others use metaphoric representations like CGI scenes. Some titles use each scene to introduce characters and members of the cast. This site also gives in-depth descriptions of each title. These explain why the director incorporated each feature in their titles. Overall this site has and will be very helpful for our title research.

Final task genre research horrror

Horror Hello Blog! Today we are researching about the horror genre. The horror genre mainly use POV shots, handheld angles, Dutch angles, tracking shots, and extreme close ups. Horror genre likes the mis-en-scene to be in dark, rural, deserted locations that are isolated and mainly abandoned. It also uses all types of weapons, mainly hand held weapons that are not projectiles, as well as having certain super natural features. These features can be graveyards, haunted houses, or even isolated castles. Horror uses lots of special effects, shot placements, and transitions, which can be cutting or just regular fade in. For sound, it uses mainly stringed instruments, but also use breathing, synthesizers, monsters vocals, footsteps, ghost sounds, stabbing, slashing, or any flesh wound sounds. Insidious and Annabelle are examples of horror genre movies. I like the appeal and fright of horror, it brings a rush of adrenaline. I do not like how horror can get repetitive.

Final task/ movie research the hangover

I chose the movie "The Hangover" for several reasons. Firstly, its unique and comedic premise caught my attention. The idea of a wild bachelor party in Las Vegas gone wrong, with the characters waking up with no memory of the previous night, promised a hilarious and unpredictable storyline. Secondly, the film boasted a talented ensemble cast, including Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis, known for their comedic prowess. Narrative Structure: I appreciated "The Hangover" for its unconventional narrative structure, using a nonlinear timeline to unravel the events of the bachelor party. This non-traditional storytelling kept the audience engaged and intrigued. The dynamic between the main characters added a layer of humor and camaraderie. The contrasting personalities of Phil, Stu, and Alan contributed to the comedic tension and memorable moments throughout the film. While "The Hangover" is widely acclaimed, there are aspects that might not appeal

Final task/ movie research blog home alone

Movie Research "Home Alone 1" suits the comedy genre with its arsenal of physical comedy, misunderstandings, and family dynamics. It's a wild ride of a kid facing off against burglars during the holiday season. The film dives deep into the chaos of misadventures and the importance of family bonds, fitting snugly into the comedy genre. Liked Genre Conventions in "Home Alone 1": The inventive pranks that Kevin pulls off are pure gold, adding a hilarious touch to the film. The Christmas setting gives off cozy vibes and enhances the comedic elements, making it a festive treat. Beyond the laughs, the movie weaves in a valuable lesson about family, adding a heartwarming layer to the genre conventions. Disliked Genre Conventions in "Home Alone 1": While the pranks were epic, some scenarios seemed a bit far-fetched, like a kid being left alone without anyone noticing. The burglars' exaggerated, stereotypical portrayal felt a tad overdone. Also, character d

Title research: Paul Blart: mall cop

Image
I got the movie I used from Netflix. Titles that were displayed in the opening sequence included the producers and actors that where in the movie. The images that are prioritized in the beginning of this comedy movie are a very serious and inspirational logo of a police badge followed by images from the new jersey police department training facilities, it then show picture of a short and fat man who is participating and as he is running and completing his final exam he is doing perfect before falling on his face and going to sleep right before he passes the finish line. By doing this it the seriousness that should be had when dealing it the police department and turns it comedic by making the main character a short and fat cop that messes up because he falls. This made me feel the comedic aspect of this movie starting when he was running and sweat makes of his shirt made a funny face and ending after he falls on his face. By going from the serious side so quickly to the comedic side

Title research here comes the boom

Image
I got the film from Netflix. The titles displayed in the opening sequence of the comedy movie "here comes the boom" includes the producers of the movie and the actors as well as the title of the movie. In the opening sequence of this comedy the images that are prioritized to be shown are pictures of wresting trophies and pictures if the main character in his glory years until it changes to his degree in teaching and him lying in a dirty room asleep past his alarm clock. It includes these to give background to the current situation that the main character is in and how he was star athlete to know a teacher that is very lazy in his later years in life. Through the opening sequence it gives me the idea that I am about to watch a comedy because after hearing his alarm he gets up in quick manor and runs across his bed to get ready, this made me laugh and set the tone for the movie. class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
